I am often looking for students and postdoctoral fellows. Candidates should have previous studies with high marks in a field such as Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science. Basic knowledge of optimization methods is required. Any previous research experience (journal publication(s) and/or conference presentation(s)) is a plus, as are significant national/international awards.
If you believe you are qualified, send me an email with your CV/resume, a detailed list of publications, and a few names of references who can comment on your research accomplishments and communication skills. If your background is promising, I will contact you to set up an interview. Applications are accepted at any time of the year.
If you are a researcher from Germany and completed your doctorate in the last four years, you can apply for a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship to come work with me, as I am a Humboldtian. Please contact me as per the instructions above and specify that you wish to apply for a Feodor Lynen Fellowship.
Currently all my students receive financial support. Self-funding (e.g., a scholarship from a foreign government) is welcome, but it does not increase your chance of being accepted. In most circumstances, PhD students at École Polytechnique de Montréal pay the same reduced tuition fees as local Quebec students; this corresponds to a reduction of up to 80%!
